Crown will host their annual Gathering on October 19-22, 2017 in the spectacular Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, at Ridgecrest Conference Center. The Gathering is open to staff, volunteers, ministry and Outreach Partners, board members and leaders who are passionate about Crown’s mission. It is a special time to refresh your soul, renew friendships, and rekindle your excitement in the business of empowering faithful stewards. Make plans now to be at Crown’s 2017 Gathering!
This year Crown will be introducing a new initiative entitled Total Life Stewardship: 5 Stages of Success. More information is provided in the SESSIONS section below. We will also hear from a special guest (to be revealed soon), hear updates from activities around the globe, and remarkable ministry reports. For anyone who has been touched by Crown’s work over the years this is our annual “investor’s report” that is worth the trip! Additionally, we are pleased to announce the talented group Between You and Me will return to lead us in worship.
Ridgecrest Conference Center
Cradled in the spectacular Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, Ridgecrest’s 1,300 acres invite you to leave your cares at the gate. Reunion attendees can enjoy on-campus activities, stroll around campus or claim a rocker on legendary Rocking Chair Ridge and get lost in the amazing view. When you are ready for more activity, Ridgecrest offers a variety of on-campus outdoor recreation, such as a high ropes course, hiking and team sports. Within a short drive, you’ll find top-notch fishing, swimming and whitewater rafting. World class shopping can be found in nearby Asheville and quaint artisan shops are just up the road in Black Mountain.
Getting To Ridgecrest
Attendees are responsible for their own transportation to and from the Ridgecrest Conference Center. Ridgecrest is located 17 miles east of Asheville, North Carolina, on Interstate 40, Exit 66, approximately 30 miles from the Asheville Regional Airport and 18 miles from the Asheville Bus Station. Your Crown Gathering registration fee is ALL INCLUSIVE! It includes the following:
- Three nights accommodations at Ridgecrest Conference Center (Thursday-Sunday, Oct. 19-22)
- Registration is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. EST on Thursday afternoon
- Kick-off Dinner is Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and a Welcome Session at 7 p.m.
- Eight meals beginning with Thursday evening dinner and ending with Sunday breakfast.
- All General Sessions
- Limited Rooms Available! First-Come, First-Serve! Please do not call Ridgecrest to make your reservations; all rooms will be on a master rooming list submitted by Crown.
- Registration Deadline is September 30th.
- No refunds will be possible after September 1st due to the contracted room nights that Crown is committed to fill.

This year Crown will be introducing a new initiative entitled Total Life Stewardship: 5 Stages of Success. During Gathering, attendees will engage in five new and progressive teaching segments:
- Know Your Design
- Maximize Your Talents
- Manage Your Money
- Teach Your Children
- Finish Well
Attendees who register no later than September 30 will receive a link to complete their own Personality ID Assessment and receive their personalized report at Gathering during the Know Your Design session.
Additionally, we will hear from a special guest speaker (to be revealed soon!), hear updates from activities around the globe, and remarkable ministry reports.
Frequently Asked Questions
We currently do not have a children’s program or babysitting arrangements for Crown’s Gathering. We recommend planning for the kids to stay home and consider this a great opportunity to get away as a couple to a beautiful location!
Dress code is casual; it is a good idea to have good walking shoes! And, of course, it is always good to have a sweater/jacket for cool October mornings!
You should plan on arriving on Thursday, October 19, 2017 in time to settle into your room and enjoy the 5:30 pm dinner. Registration will be open between 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. EST in the lobby of Mountain Laurel; if you arrive earlier than 1 pm you may not be able to check into your room but you can spend some time enjoying the grounds at Ridgecrest.
Our final session will be Saturday night but you don’t want to miss it! Please make departure plans to check out on Sunday morning and travel home that day.
No, the costs for the event have been partially underwritten and your lodging is being provided to you as a valued ministry partner! You will receive a confirmation email when you register, and we will add your name(s) to the master rooming list that will be submitted by Crown to Ridgecrest. If you have special requests such as needing a handicap accessible room please indicate that on your registration form and we will alert Ridgecrest.
No problem. During the registration process simply indicate your special need and we will have Ridgecrest adapt their menu accordingly.
We will be posting Ground Transportation options from AVL to Ridgecrest very soon.
Yes! Wi-fi is available in the meeting room as well as the accommodation buildings.
Crown owns a limited amount of translation equipment and will try to accommodate translation requests. If you have a translation need, please indicate that during the registration process. If you would like more information, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Yes. Please have one attendee complete the registration as a “couple” with information for both attendees and denote that you are sharing a room in the “special needs” box. We’ll leave it up to you to settle the shared registration expense!
